Hello
I am working on a project that deals with image processing. My question is what are the global and local image statistics ?
Thanks in advance.

A global statistic is one which describes the whole image - e.g. the mean grey level of all the pixels of the image.
A local statistic one which describes a neighbourhood within the image - e.g. the mean grey level of a given pixel and its 8 nearest neighbours. Local statistics are often computed for many neighbourhoods ("patches") within an image, sometimes for a neighbourhood centred on every pixel.
