suggest a best algorithm for face detection and recognition from images

sir, we are about to make a project that includes following steps:

• extraction of features of a face and create a data base.suggest the best feature extraction method so that we can recognise with good accuracy
• detecting multiple faces in a image and counting
• face matching with pre defined image and recognise
