Is Matlab license transferable between OS?

Matlab has different OS versions. Do I have to have Matlab license for each OS? or Can I transfer Matlab license from Windows version to Linux version?

It is not licensed by operating system . For example a single named user license is valid for any operating system you boot on that same host.
That said, you might need assistance from Mathworks to handle the differences in the way that different versions of MATLAB look for hardware identifiers
Note that the above is discussing staying on the same host. Moving between hosts can require deactivation and re-activation, depending on which license type you have.

You might need to more precisely define "host". Is it a physical computer, a person, a login account on a computer, etc.?

If you have a mac, Windows, and Linux computer you should be able to download the appropriate installer for each, and install it on each and run it on each (professional license). Or you can switch from one OS to another and use one at a time if you have something like a home or student license where you can only run one version at a time.
