Matlab & 32bit Ubuntu 14.04

I am currently a student at the University of Alberta and am currently on a 32 Bit Labtop, which is currently running Ubuntu 14.04 as an OS.

My problem now comes from the fact that I am not able to use the current version of Matlab, which I was planning to purchase a couple of weeks ago, on my computer.

I was wondering if there was anyway that I could get it to work, and if not, if there is any 32-Bit version of Matlab that would be available for use on such an (archaic) system.
