how would i find a postive root

func = @(x) tanh(2*x)/(2*x) = 0.7

One way to find the roots is described here. You can then exclude all the non-positive.
Quickly you can do this:
func = @(x) tanh(2.*x)./(2.*x) -0.7
fzero(func, 1)
