If you are receiving this error, it means your MathWorks Account is not linked to a license for this release. You must link to a license with that release and restart MATLAB. Clicking the link in the error will bring you to your MathWorks Account page where you can link to a license.
If the link in this error is not working, please click the link below to go to your MathWorks Account and link to a license.
My MathWorks Account
Alternatively, contact your IT Department for instructions on how to link to an available license.
If your MathWorks Account is already linked to a license eligible for the release of MATLAB you are attempting to use, locally stored license information on your computer may be corrupted. Perform the following steps to regenerate the license information:
1. Make sure your computer is connected to the internet
2. Remove the .mwlicx file
Windows:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\MathWorks\licensing\licenses\
Linux: /home/$USER/.MathWorks/licensing/licenses/
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MathWorks/licensing/licenses/
3. Restart MATLAB
If the above instructions do not work, remove the the license_info.xml file, it is located in the directories below. (NOTE: Replace "R20XXx" with release number, e.g. R2022b.)
Windows:
C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R20XXx\licenses
Linux: /usr/local/MATLAB/R20XXx/licenses
Mac: License files are stored inside the MATLAB application package. Right click, CTRL-click, or two-finger click on the MATLAB icon in your Applications folder and select "Show Package Contents.", In the folder that opens up, open the "licenses" folder.
You may need to reactivate MATLAB after deleting the license_info.xml file. See the article below for instructions.
