showing image color planes in color

1 view (last 30 days)
Hi all,
Does anyone know of a way to display the color planes of an image individually, and in colour? I am extracting each bit plane individually using r = img(:,:,1) and so on, but on imshow they appear gray. This is of course somewhat logical, but I would really like to display them for their appropriate scales. i.e. for the red colour plane, the intensity range is 0 (black) to 255 (red). Is this possible?
Thanks for all your help!

just do as code given below
imx=im;
imx(:,:,2)=0;
imx(:,:,3)=0;
imshow(imx);
