How to get around using pack function in matlab 2022b?

Iam curently trying to run enhancement of eeglab called Hume (all info on this link: https://www.jaredsaletin.org/hume) and unfortunetly in part of its code it uses pack function. For Matlab 2022b this function has been deleted without any replacement and I can't find a way to continue. Is there any, beside downgrading the Matlab version? Is this function still necesary in the code?

Error mesage I got:

Error using pack

pack has been removed.

The pack command is not useful anymore. Try to comment it out in the code. Asking the author is a good option also.
