Can't open or create scripts in MATLAB 2023a on Mac.

I installed MATLAB 2023a on my M1 Macbook Pro, but can't open any scripts, or create new ones. The editor won't appear for me, despite all of my script names being visible in "current folder". I managed to open the editor tab in the taskbar using the edit command, but it doesn't let me view the code. I can run scripts by typing their names but I can't manage to open the editor properly. I had the same problem when I installed 2022b a few months ago, so I just reverted to using 2021a. 2021a still works perfectly for me.

This thread links to a handful of similar threads.
You can check to see if one of those is helpful. As I said there, I don't have a Mac or any of these particular versions, so I can't test any of this myself.
