How do I change my MATLAB UI language to English (desktop already in English)??

28 views (last 30 days)
Just installed MATLAB on my laptop. My laptop's system is in English, so the default MATLAB desktop language is English too. My workspace and editor are all in English. However, Chinese would pop up for auto sugguestion, publish window, when I try to create a function, etc. How do I change everything to English? I've tried preference -> general, and there's no option for English (probably because my main workspace is already in English). Would appreciate any help or sugguestions :)

Same problem here! 2023a works perfectly fine on the very same machine but the ARM version of 2023b gives me this craziness. System: M1 Mac, macOS 13.4

Hi Yuan,
I understand that you are experiencing features in Chinese within MATLAB R2023b despite having the default language set to English.
To address this issue, one workaround is to remove Chinese as a secondary language in your OS settings.
However, for a more permanent resolution, I recommend downloading and installing 'MATLAB R2023b Update 6,' where this specific issue has been resolved .
Please find the update below:
Hope this helps.
