Hello, I have a question about the short circuit current from MATLAB example, which is battery pack fault protection. In this simulation, why is the current start from zero? can anyone explain it in detail please?

That is the short circuit current. As there is no short circuit until 30s the current remains to 0 (Switch is open from 0 to 30s). The switch in the circuit is closed at 30s time in the Switch operation logic subsystem. The circuit is completed and short circuits the system through a resistance of 0.1mOhm. As a high current passes through all the cells in the module, the cell temperature rises and quickly attains the trigger temperature for thermal runaway and gas venting. The switch is opened after aprox 113 seconds to disconnect the electrical circuit as the cell is now dead. I hope this helps.
