How to model impact load on a beam?

Hi all! I need to write a code for impact hammer test on a beam. The main problem is that I am a beginner in writing codes in MATLAB. I came to the stage of applying the load on the beam, but don't know how to do this. Does anyone has any suggestions from where to start? Thanks
