Problem using GPU with Matlab R2015a: dispatcher:loadLibrary Can't load gpu.dll

I have a fresh installation of Matlab R2015a with all necessary toolboxes installed (I think), but can't use my GPU, because I get the following error right at the start of my script:
>> gpuDevice()
MATLAB:dispatcher:loadLibrary Can't load 'C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2015a\bin\win64\gpu.dll': C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2015a\bin\win64\gpu.dll ist keine zulässige Win32-Anwendung.
. Caught MathWorks::System::FatalException >>
(ist keine zulässige Win32-Anwendung translates-> Not a valid Win32 application)
OS is Windows 7 64bit Service Pack 1.
Any ideas about what might be wrong are very much appreciated as I am totally at a loss.
Thanks

This looks like an installation problem (I would expect a different error if you didn't have an appropriate CUDA driver installed), so I suggest contacting MathWorks support.

Hi Sascha,
Judging from the error message, it seems like MATLAB is trying to load a 32-bit dll into 64-bit MATLAB, which is not a supported workflow. Try double-checking the bitness of your 'gpu.dll' and using a 64-bit dll to fix the issue.
Hope this helps!
