What's the meaing of ''clutterGenerator"and "ringClutterRegion"?

I'm trying to plot a radar to sea PPI image, and in reading the MATLAB example, I don't understand what the grids clutter region should look like?

the ringclutterRegin can create a ring-shaped clutter,it refesr to which one?
