how to change language in Matlab 2023b (configuration disappered?)

12 views (last 30 days)
I just start to use Matlab R2023b from R2019b, then I can not find the "language setting" (change English/Chinese/...), I remember it was in "General" setting in previous matlab version

Be sure to install available updates for R2023b. A language-releated bug was fixed in update 6 for R2023b
This does not address the change in the preference dialog.

Also the help page for it says,
  • "Select an option for the Desktop language preference. If the Desktop language preference is not visible, then this preference is not supported for your current system configuration."

Hey Leo,
I too tried to change the language in a MATLAB R2023b installation. As you have mentioned, the option does not exist. However, with reference to the following documentation guide:
If the locale or display language setting on your system is set to Japanese, Korean, or Chinese, you can choose whether to display text in the MATLAB desktop in your system language or in English
Hence, the option to change language only seems to appear if your system langugage is not set to English. If your system language is English, then it seems MATLAB does not offer you an option to set an alternative language

thanks to @@Jacob Mathew, I fixed this issue:
I installed Chinese language package and choose it as Windows display language, then the "language setting" in Matlab comes back
comeback
