Blinking Textcursor in Matlab Editor (Windows 10/11)

Is there a way to deactivate the blinking of the textcursor in Matlab's editor for the recent versions like R2024a? Solutions that I found online like NoBlink seem to work either only for older Matlab versions, or on Linux but not with Windows 10/11.

Hi Christian,
As of the latest versions of MATLAB, there isn't a built-in setting to directly disable the blinking text cursor in the MATLAB Editor. However, you can try this workaround:
System-wide settings: Some operating systems allow you to control the cursor blink rate, which might affect MATLAB as well. On Windows, you can try adjusting the cursor blink rate in the Control Panel:
  • Go to Control Panel > Ease of Access Center > Make the computer easier to see.
  • Scroll down to find the Set the thickness of the blinking cursor section and adjust the blink rate.

Hi Pratyush, thanks for the suggestion. At the place you mentioned i found control only for the thickness, not the blinking rate. But i already tried to change these values in the Windows Registry Editor (cf. "Option Two" from https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/95372-change-text-cursor-blink-rate-windows.html ), where one can disable blinking and set the cursor width to zero. But unfortunately Matlab's Editor is not affected by these settings (they do have the desired effect e.g. on Matlab's Command Window, though).
