Problems applying custom keyboard shortcut for "New Function"

Hello all, I customizing matlab for uni and I am trying to add a custom keyboard shortcut for "New Function" but it is not applying. The shortcut IS being saved in the preferences, but it is not activating when I input the keystrokes while working in the editor. And there are no conflicts with pre-existing shortcuts (see image)
I tried using the same keystroke "Ctrl+Shift+N" for another action "Save as" and the shortcut worked as expected. So it seems like the issue is isolated to the action "New Function"
I also did all the basic stuff like restarting matlab and my computer and the issue still persists.

notice that "tools with shortcut" is set to MATLAB Desktop. You will need to set that to include the editor if you want to use the shortcut in the editor.

This doesn't work, I am not seeing an option for the editor, is there some obscure matlab setting that determines this? Some regKey that I can tweak?
Hmmm, there does not appear to be any way to do it. Activating "New Function" from the desktop does nothing (at least in R2024b pre-release), and it is not recognized in the editor. I think you are going to need to report a bug.
"New Example" works from the command window, creating a new LiveScript window... but you would think that it would also allow the shortcut in the editor.
Alright, Ive reported it, thank you.
