MATLAB slow and buggy

Recently, I installde a new drive in my computer to expand storage. A lot of the data I work with in MATLAB is now in this new D drive. It seems MATLAB has slowed down significantly when working with said data (MATLAB is installed on the C drive). I expected this but not the extent where things take absurdly long and often lead to crashes.
Has anyone experienced this, and has reccomendations?

Not in MATLAB, but the drive letter is C: D: etc... on windows system. You says the files were in C: (?) and now they are moved on D:

Hi Raghav,
The issue seems to due to slow read/write speed of the the newly installed storage drive.
Verify if the read/write speeds of the newly installed drive (assuming it is HDD) are comparable to the drive in which MATLAB is installed. If they are not, I would suggest transferring the data to the other driver, but if the speeds of the storage drives are closer to each other then I would recommend performing a clean re-installation of MATLAB software and if feasible please upgrade to the latest MATLAB version as there might be some improvement in I/O operations with the application.
I hope it helps!
