Matlab 'try now' and contact customer service doesn't work

30 views (last 30 days)
Hi,
I am a Matlab user, on professional level, but I want to try to use it privetly, on my home mac. I am trying to get a trial to check out the performance on my M2. No luck until now....
Requesting a trial gets me this message: "We are unable to offer you a trial. If you believe you are receiving this message in error, please contact your local customer support representative"
Contating sales requires unniversity or work email. Using my private email gets me this message: "The form cannot be processed at this time. Please try again later"
Using 'Other' in the contaxct form gets me to a page where a form is being loaded but after a short flash this is displayed "Service Unavailable - DNS failure"
I would appriciate if I can get some support in this matter.
Thank you!

Answers is not customer support. In fact, we are generally not even employed at The MathWorks, though some TMW staff do visit the group.
However, there may be several potential issues with your query.
  1. The MathWorks has been undergoing a ransomware attack. It started nearly 2 weeks ago, but they are just now managing to recover systems. It may still be interfering with your online requests though, if they have not gotten to restoring this capability. I cannot know.
  2. We don't know where you are. But there are probably some places where TMW is legally prohibited from doing business. If that is the case, I apologize, but my apology is worth less than the ink it was printed with.
  3. I don't know of a third reason, but there is often something I missed.
So you need to do as the response indicates. Contact a customer service rep. A real one. Not Answers.

Hi. Thaks for detailed answers. I will check again the status of my topic in one...two weeks.
I am located in Austria so I do not think there should be an issue with getting the trial or license for basic Matlab.
On proffesional level I am used with excelent level 1 support from Mathworks and I was curious if this is also valid for hobbiysts. I understand that they have other priorities for now...

Yes, there are all kinds of problems with everybody due to some greedy evil criminals that tried to blackmail Mathworks via a ransomware attack. See status.mathworks.com for current status.

Thanks. I just read something about it. Guess my topic is not critical then :)
I will wait for the team to solve other problems first...
