I currently have FlexLM installed on a physical node for MATLAB. Since we need to decommission this node, I must migrate to a new FlexLM installation on a virtual machine with MAC address fa:16:3e:03:a4:90. Could you please provide me with a link to a guide on how to perform this migration?

There are two possibilites:
  1. You can afford some downtime on the server. In that case, prepare the new node on a different IP address, then shut down the old node, and then renumber the IP address for the virtual machine. New contacts are made according to IP address, so not much will even notice the change in hardware.
  2. You cannot afford any downtime on the server. In that case, switching servers is considerably more complex; I am not even sure it is possible without bringing down the license daemon. https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/92975-what-are-redundant-servers-how-do-i-generate-a-license-file-for-one-and-how-do-i-set-it-up

This procedure is self-serve. You do not have to contact MathWorks Sales or Service. Please review this article for instructions.
