project file is not being updated

The complier project file is not being updated. When I exit Matlab and re-enter, opening the project file all setting are lost. Is there some setting to enable auto updates of the project file?

It seems that the auto update of a project works until one enters an "app". I am using the "standalone application" one to compile the task. None of the settings used for this are saved. As far as I can see it lets you make a "build.m" file which can be used to generate the final files but any change to that has to be done in the build.m file. None of the settings used to generate that file can apparently be saved. Am I missing a way to save these settings?
