Pasting files into the Current Folder pane over Remote Desktop

On a single computer, I am able to freely copy/paste files between Windows File Explorer and the MATLAB Desktop's Current Folder pane.
When I am connected to a remote computer via Remote Dektop Connection, I find that I can copy from the Current Folder pane on one computer and paste to File Explorer on the second computer. It does not matter whether the second computer is the local one or the remote one.
Conversely, when the pasting destination is the Current Folder pane, it does not work between remotely connected computers. Again, it does not matter whether the target computer is local or remote.
Does anyone know why this is, and if this restriction can be removed?
