Hello,
I am just learning how to use the mapping toolbox, but the most basic example will not work for me:
worldmap('North America')
??? Undefined function or method 'fromDegrees' for input arguments of type
'char'.
Error in ==> eqdconic>eqdconicDefault at 41
mstruct.mapparallels = fromDegrees(mstruct.angleunits, [15 75]);
Error in ==> applyProjection at 10
outputs{1} = mproj.default(varargin{1});
Error in ==> eqdconic at 33
varargout = applyProjection(mproj, varargin{:});
Error in ==> defaultm at 41
mstruct = feval(mstruct.mapprojection,mstruct);
Error in ==> regionmap>constructMapAxesWorld at 530
mstruct = defaultm(projection);
Error in ==> regionmap at 103
h = constructMapAxes(latlim, lonlim);
Error in ==> worldmap at 113
ax = regionmap(mfilename, varargin{:});
Can anyone help me with this. I already double checked to make sure the mapping toolbox is on my Matlab path.
Thanks, Dan

Does
which -all fromDegrees
return anything for you? I would expect to see something under the mapping toolbox for it.
Which MATLAB version are you using?

It returns: 'fromDegrees' not found.
I'm using version 7.10.0.

Relative to your MATLAB root directory, the fromDegrees function should be located in toolbox/shared/maputils. This is true in all recent versions, including R2010a (which corresponds to MATLAB 7.10).
Is this folder on your path? It should be, if Mapping Toolbox is properly installed. Perhaps there is something wrong with your installation.
