Why do I receive an 'invalid zip file' error when trying to install the Arduino Support Package?

While trying to install the Arduino Support Package I receive the following error:
Error installing third party software Arduino software
Error executing command "unzip ('C:\MATLAB\Support Package\R2015a\downloads\arduinodue_download\arduino-1.5.6-r2-windows.zip)
Invalid zip file "C:\MATLAB\Support Package\R2015a\downloads\arduinodue_download\arduino-1.5.6-r2-windows.zip"

This error is likely due to a bad download of the arduino support package installation files. To correct this, delete the relevant "_download" folder and then restart the installation. By default the download folder is located in the following location:
C:\MATLAB\Support Package\R2015a\downloads
