Use histogram() instead of hist() in plotmatrix
Show older comments
Currently, the plotmatrix uses hist on the back end to generate the histogram plots. The hist function, it seems, through forceful binning (into 10 bins) throws off my plots. What works well is histogram(). How can I use histrogram() with plotmatrix instead of hist()?

I don't see any input arguments to it that get passed through to histogram() internally. But it does pass back the histogram object and the axes handles so maybe you can use those to modify the bar charts yourself, manually.
