how to plot step response from an unknown first order system?

im having trouble with plotting the step response beacause my system doesnt reach the steady state. i need help to increase the ouput till it reaches the steady state

Unknown first order system should have an unknown step response. If your system is stable, you normally can see the steady state.
%Example
N=1;
D=[1 10]
h=tf(N,D);
step(h)
you can check the stability:
r=roots(D)
the real part of r should be negative
