Simulink: An installed compiler was not detected.

Can someone help me. When I run simulink I get the error: An installed compiler was not detected. Certain simulation modes, as well as host-based coder builds require that a compiler be installed. Please install one of the supported compilers for this release as listed at

Install a compiler and use mex -setup to configure it.

The appropriate compiler to install depends upon which operating system you have and which MATLAB version you are using, which is something you did not mention.

Using SDK 7.1 with .NET 4.0 would probably be the easiest for you.
