SIMULINKS and AIMMS

Can i do without AIMMS software with my SIMULINK, am working on optimization problems and i am a complete newbie. I want to stick to SIMULINK but i want to know whether one can do without AIMMS software in getting exact solutions in an optimization problem? Please kindly assist me on this issue.
