Error using hwconnecti​nstaller.P​ackageInst​aller

We have a freshly installed Matlab R2015b on a Windows 7 OS. Opening the Add-ons windows leads to the following error:

Error using hwconnectinstaller.PackageInstaller

Can't reload 'C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2015b\bin\win64\dastudio.dll'

Uninstalling and reinstalling did not fixed the problem.

We are not interested in installing the latest version of Matlab as it will not support a third-party compiler that we are going to link to Matlab. Any advise to address the issue?

You need to uninstall or upgrade Dell Backup and Recovery as it is interfering with DLLs. I am not sure if you will need to reinstall MATLAB afterwards. Dell has fixed the bug in their newer versions.

Thanks Walter. Uninstalling the Dell Backup and Recovery worked without reinstalling Matlab.
