How do I solve a 3x3 matrix with 2 variables?

I want to solve a Z-Y-X euler rotation matrix for the angles x and y. z=45 deg. I know the resulting matrix, but want to find the angles x and y.
Is there a build-in rotationmatrix I can use or do I need to enter it manually? What structure/code should I write? I can't isolate the variables and use the Ax=B structure to solve it.

What is is you actually know ... a direction cosine matrix?

If you have a direction cosine matrix and want to convert it to a specific Euler Angle sequence, I would recommend this FEX submission by John Fuller called SpinCalc:
