I have a server that hosts licensing for Mathcad and Matlab softwares. I recently updated my Mathcad licence and after updating matlab no longer works. Mathcad works fine.
Server status:
-------- Status -------- Flexible License Manager status on Mon 6/6/2016 11:29
[Detecting lmgrd processes...] License server status: 7788@server License file(s) on server: C:\Program Files\flexnet\licensing\license.dat:
server: license server UP (MASTER) v10.8
Vendor daemon status (on server):
ptc_d: The desired vendor daemon is down.
Check the lmgrd log file, or try lmreread.
Vendor:Host: server
License path: 7788@server;
FlexNet Licensing error:-97,121
For further information, refer to the FlexNet Licensing documentation,
available at "www.flexerasoftware.com".
License files for both softwares are in different directories and Mathcad is using port 7788 and matlab 27000. Both ports are open so there's no problem with that. Another thing I noticed that we have different version of vendor daemon and license server could this be the problem?
Vendor daemon status (on server): MLM: UP v11.13
server: license server UP (MASTER) v10.8

What puzzles me is that the error message appears to be from another product that is working, while there is no MATLAB related message and MATLAB does not work...
It seems you have seen already this article, as you mention the TCP/IP ports. Probably best is you call into MathWorks installation support right away.
