How to make MATLAB for Mac running after closing the window?

7 views (last 30 days)
In Mac OS X, closing a window does not necessarily exit a program, e.g. Microsoft Word. This could save a lot of time when you want to open another document after you close one, for some programs take a long time to launch.
MATLAB for Mac is one of those who take a long time to launch. Despite this, it exits right away after I close the window. Except for minimizing it, is there some way to keep it running by modifying the preference settings? I did not find this option in Preferences.
For those who did not interpret my question correctly, what I mean is not to keep a MATLAB shortcut in Dock.
I am using MATLAB R2014a in OS X El Capitan.

No, when the command window is closed (not just minimized) MATLAB will close completely.

Everybody knows what you said is truth. However, this is equivalent to answering nothing because there must be some little-known skills to break the routine, and that's the idea of posting the question here!
