Converting a sinusoidal signal into a trapezoidal one?

Hi, I have a system , which is stabilised by state feedback. Unfortunately in the real world we are able to apply only trapezoidal inputs probably of a lower frequency. How should I go about converting the sinusoidal signal into a trapezoidal one so that stability behaviour is mimicked?

A saturation block can be used to saturate to sine wave so the output will look like a trapezoidal signal. Let’s say we have a sine wave with an amplitude of 2, we can then saturate to +1 and -1 to output a trapezoidal signal. More specific requirements are needed to be able to provide an exact solution.
