How do I create and use a MATLAB Instrument Driver (.mdd) file for use with SEGGER J-Link Pro interface?

I am using the Instrument Control Toolbox in MATLAB to communicate with and control a SEGGER J-Link pro interface. I have installed the appropriate Matlab Instrument drivers for this instrument. I am trying to create a MATLAB Instrument Driver (.mdd) file in order to control the instrument through an interface object.
When using the MAKEMID command to do this, I am getting the following error:
Error using makemid (line 129) The specified driver could not be loaded.

It doesn't appear that the device in question has an IVI or VXIPnP driver. In this case, you will want to open up MIDEDIT and create your MDD as a generic driver. The MATLAB code in the MDD will use LOADLIBRARY and CALLIB calls into the DLL provided by the device manufacturer. See the documentation on writing a generic driver
