When using Simulink 2016a on RHEL 6.8 via Exceed on Demand (EoD). The keyboard is shifted. If I press the ‘s’ key an ‘a’ shows up on the screen. If I push the ‘p’ key ’o’ shows up on the screen. Typing in the main matlab program and editor is fine. a=a. It looks like the GUI for Simulink for 2016 has been redone, it’s pretty different.
  1. Switching to Simunlink 2015, get me normal keyboard mapping
  2. Switching to full screen EoD did not change this issue.
  3. Switching to windowed EoD did not change this issue.
  4. I cannot find VNC on any of our linux servers to try….
  5. I was trying to use Xming yesterday, but I had no luck at all with getting any windows to come up with that.
  6. I tried to tunnel x11 over ssh but I didn’t get it right.
  7. I installed MatLAB 2016a on a native linux RHEL6 box and ran it locally. I did not use any external X server program (e.g. Exceed, EoD, xming). The issue did not occur.
Does anyone have Simulink 2016a Linux working in a client server X forwarding environment?

Based on this Related Bug report. I tried Xming and Red Hat Cygwin with X server. Both options work. The issue I have above is with Exceed and likely covered by the exiting bug report.

Hello,
It's not exatcly the same software involved, but we encoutered the same issue with OpenText Exceed (version 14) and Simulink r2016b. The solution for us was to enable the XKEYBOARD extension in Exceed configuration (via the Xconfig tool).
If you manage to find a similiar setting in Exceed on Demand, I'm pretty confident that it should solve your issue too!
