SimBiology doesn't launch after unexpected crash

1 view (last 30 days)
I have been working on my model in SimBiology while the software suddenly crashed. Since that time I cannot launch the SimBiology Desktop anymore. When I type “simbiology” into the command line, the Matlab stays busy and only a blank window appears. The same happens when I try to open the app. It doesn't display any error message. I am using Matlab R2016a on Mac OS X El Capitan. I already tried to reinstall the toolbox but it hasn’t solved my problem.

Hi Anna,
Please follow the steps outlined below and let me know if this fixes your issue:
Please be aware that making these changes will reset all SimBiology preferences to defaults and clear out all projects from the recently opened list.
1. On your MATLAB command line type: prefdir
This should give you the location of the directory where SimBiology preferences are stored.
2. Close SimBiology and MATLAB.
3. Navigate to the directory using Windows Explorer and copy the following files to a different location:
a) SimBiologyDesktop.xml
b) SimBiologyDesktop.xml.prev
c) In the SimBiology folder: sbiodesktop.cfg
5. Delete all 3 files from the preferences directory.
4. Open MATLAB and attempt to launch SimBiology from the command line or the app icon in the toolbar.

Hi, there was no file with name sbiodesktop.cfg (it appeared only later after successful launch of SimBiology), however, removing the other two fixed the problem. Thanks!
