xlswrite function literally opens and closes Excel when writing

Hello Matlab community,

Ever since I got my latest update for Microsoft Office, I get an annoying result every time I use the xlswrite function. Microsoft Office literally opens up and closes every time I call the function: it does not run in background mode like it used to do before the update. This is quite annoying because it prevents me from using my computer while Matlab is running.

Anyone has an idea on how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance, Nicolas
