quad8 is higher-order terms and this function available in matlab 6.5 however, not in matlab 7. Gone through your side side and found the following : quad8, a higher-order method, has the same calling sequence as quad.
1) Can i replace my quad8 function to quad and will that work as higher order term as quad8?
Please assist.

No. As I already indicated https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/299771-undefined-function-or-method-quad8-for-input-arguments-of-type-char#comment_385612 the replacement was quadl not quad. In turn, quadl is being replaced by integral in current versions (R2012a and later.)
If you specifically need Newton-Cotes 8 Panel (quad8) then use https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/8999-summed-newton-cotes-rules with nodes set to 8.
