My old computer is crashing more than once a day on average, so I bought a new one. How do I get my Matlab 2016a in the new computer operating with Windows 10?

Hi Emillio,
Your license is attached to your MathWorks account typically. You can download R2016a from the following link: https://www.mathworks.com/downloads/web_downloads/download_release?release=R2016a
Then, during the installation you can activate MATLAB using your MathWorks account.

Remember to deactivate on the old system before activating on the new system.

Before the answer I tried to get support to answer the question. Their system kept refusing my request on the grounds that the contract number (once entered by hand, once copied and pasted from the output to the ver command and once copied and pasted from MY Account was a not a valid account. But somehow somebody in sales got me there so I will not undo that good work by trying to verify that your suggestion works. Thanks for the effort.
