Convert .mat to .wav

Once saved, how do you convert the .mat file in the Current Folder window into a .wav file, and then save it onto my computer?

I am not understanding what 'y' represents. I have tried using my .mat file, uint8, and int16. I used the resample function to make the file 16kHz.
