If I am successful to do so, can I invert the above matrix? Let us say I have A(a,b;c,d) as a 4-d matrix. If I invert this matrix will i get B(c,d;a,b)?

There are no MATLAB routines to do multidimensional matrix inversion. You would need to write them yourself. The result would be whatever the theoretic result would be, which is outside of the scope of the MATLAB Answers forum.

A = complex(rand(5,5,5,5), rand(5,5,5,5);
or
A = rand(5,5,5,5) + 1i * rand(5,5,5,5);
then
B = permute(A, [3 4 1 2]);

N = number_of_entries;
D = 100;
dim100 = rand([ones(1,D-1),N]);
