Adding ROS packages to use with Matlab

I want to build custom messages in Matlab which depend on the opencv_apps package (in Kinetic) which is installed in the system. The depends are on the package.xml and CmakeLists also. However I get the following error:

 package opencv_apps does not exist     opencv_apps.RotatedRect getRotRect();

I went through the workflow. They use existing computer vision package of matlab. Can we include ros packages into matlab ros?
