Plot stability region using boundary locus method

3 [f(ti+1, w(i+1)) + 4f(ti , w(i)) + f(ti−1, w(i−1))]
Derive the parametric representation of the boundary of the stability region using boundary locus method and by plotting in MATLAB prove that the stability region of the above method is a line segment [−√3i, √3i] along the imaginary axis
Any help to start this question- I would really appreciate it.
