converting pdf to image

I want to convert pdf format to image(any format) in order to apply image compression algorithm on resulting image. I've tried using ghostscript but was unsuccessful as 'gs' command was not recognized by windows cmd even after giving entire path till gs-version. Please help me out.

Type alt-PrintScreen to copy it to the clipboard. Then paste it into something like Photoshop, crop it if necessary, then save it.

If Ghostscript is causing command recognition issues on Windows, another approach is to use a desktop PDF converter to export each PDF page as an image, such as JPG or PNG. This conversion may be done using PDFChamp Image to PDF without having to deal with command-line commands. Once the pages are exported as images, you may run them through whatever image compression method you like, one image at a time. Just check the resolution of the image and the output format to achieve the quality needed for further processing.
