In the control systems toolbox, what is the difference between transfer function, state-space, zero-pole-gain, and frequency-response model?

I don't have a strong background in control systems. I am just trying to plot the magnitude of the ratio of an output voltage to the input voltage

        ss(num,dem)
   ans=num(s)/dem(s)
zpk([zeros],[poles],[gain])
ans=k*zeros(s)/poles(s)
