Why doesn't this code solve the equation?

Hi, I am trying to solve a trigonometric equation for phis using the following code:
phi = linspace(0,3*pi/4,1000);
syms phis
sol=solve(sqrt(108-40*sqrt(2)*cos(phi-phis))/sin(phi-phis)==10/sin(phis),phis);
double(subs(sol))
Unfortunately it doesn't work. Any idea how to fix it?
