How to define time in matlab.?

Hi i am trying to write a code which would help predict the best gate for a truck to be parked in order to unload the cargo. Now if i have a truck coming into gate A at 10.15 AM and another truck coming in at 10.25 Am how do i set Gate A as closed until 11.15 Am and hence the next truck coming in should choose from any of the other gates available.
