IMAGE PROCESSING for finding out density of cars.

i am doing a project on traffic management system using image processing.using image how can i find out density of cars in a particular lane? i am new to image processing can anybody explain me it?

The Mathworks site and help have demos of vehicle tracking. Have you run those? Is your "density" a time density (cars per hour passing a point) or a spatial density (number of cars per hundred meters)?

To calculate the density of cars you should use a counting program.
