2 views (last 30 days)
Hallo
I am trying to figure out how to resolve an issue with mathlab2017 b and also previous version when i open Mathlab for the first time on any pc, it start and says intializing...
this process can take 10 minutes or more.
then it works fine after.
Mathlab gets its license from a license server
the license file is the same license file for all and it points it to license server
once it launches the first time, it works correctly after it
it is unworkable at presently, because this is in a lab environment and each user will experiance this and will give up i have see other solutions from mathworks but can seem to resolve thi
any advice would be greatly appreciated Aidan McGee

It may be because you enabled the source control integration.
You can set it in Preferences / General / Source Control.
Hope this helps.

There are multiple reasons why MATLAB might be slow in initializing. M suggested one of the reasons: namely that in some releases (especially on Mac), if you have Source Control Integration turned on, then response can be slow, very much so if you are working with a network drive. M described where to look in the Preferences to turn off Source Control Integration.
This is not the only cause of slow initialization. Mathworks Support has the most complete list of the known reasons wny initialization can be slow.
