getting error serviceinterface plugin not avaliable
Show older comments
After having installed Matlab 2017a and using it for awhile, all at once we are now getting the following error. "Fatal error on startup. std::exception:Imgr::ServiceInterface plugin not available." The only solution we have found is to uninstall and reinstall the program. Can you offer any suggestions?

Hi Camey,
This can occur when an antivirus program corrupts one of the libraries necessary to run MATLAB. Try checking your "$MATLABROOT\bin\win64\matlab_startup_plugins\lmgrimpl" directory to see if a "libmwlmgrimpl.dll" file has more than 0 kb.
If there is something wrong with this file, you'll want to make an exception for it in your antivirus program and then re-install MATLAB to get a fresh version of the dll. Note that you do not need to re-install any other toolboxes, just base MATLAB.
